A Typical Wedding Day
Your wedding day is meticulously planned down to the very last detail. You have spent hours pouring over seating plans, centre pieces and flower arrangements. It deserves to be remembered. Each and every detail. So here is an example of how I run my day capturing your memories, so you can spend your day enjoying them.
This is just a guide, I alway encourage couples to be unique and unscripted as much or as little as they want on their day, making it truly representative of who they are.
Couple Getting Ready
When I arrive, I recommend you just continue whatever you were doing, I make myself at home around you and observe the events as they unfold, documenting the details. I look for emotion and significance. I watch relationships between friends and family. I watch how the couple interacts with friends or family, documenting tears of joy, laughter and inside jokes. I make myself a friend with everyone around me getting rid of the awkwardness my camera may bring. I will capture candid and authentic photos of both parties getting ready in an unobtrusive way. That being said, I may suggest moving into a different spot in the room to catch different lighting.
First Look
After getting ready, some of you may choose to do a first look. I will assist in finding an ideal location, a good way to approach it and step back allowing you guys to have your moment together. This is a special moment between the couple, I love to watch it unfold and prefer not to feel like a third wheel. Documenting every emotion along the way.
Wedding Ceremony
Moving into the ceremony, I continue, documenting as your day flies by. I capture both of your faces as you first see each other. I capture parents faces as they watch their children with proud eyes, marrying the person they love.
Wedding Portraits
During the portrait part of your wedding day I will help with location and capture all of your important family photos, then move onto a couple bridal party shots and lastly, the wedding couple. This is the time where you get to take a moment to breathe and just appreciate the day and each other. During these moments, I will take some time to capture natural and elegant feelings.
I like to give you the opportunity to spend this time just enjoying each other and being able to talk about your morning together. It is probably the only time during the day you will be able to just be together…
Once you are done chatting and exchanging sentiments, we will have some laughs together and capture some epic images.
Wedding Reception
Then, it’s time for the rest of the evening where I mix and mingle and capture natural moments as they happen and you enjoy the rest of the night. Of course, important moments are captured. First dance between bride and groom, father/daughter, mother/son or any combination that applies to your unique family dynamic.
All about the Sunsets
Sunset photos! Yes please. I love capturing these. But they are reliant on location and weather. What makes them hard, is if the timing doesn’t line up. So if you have your heart set on them, plan your dinner and speeches around it. They only take a couple minutes but those minutes fly by.
