5 Things You Should Know For Your Wedding Day
The Wedding Secrets You Need to Know But No One Talks About
I’m sure you have attended weddings, watching wedding shows and obsess over everything wedding related at this point. You read magazines and pour over blogs and anything you can find on Google or Pinterest. You’re receiving lots of advice saying “coordinate your flowers” or “seasonal colour schemes” or even things like “bring dancing shoes” and while all of this is good advice there are a few other tips I have for you to maximize your entire wedding day experience!
Theres More To Getting Ready
When you are creating your timeline with hair and makeup, make sure you leave a couple minutes of this time for you. The day goes by so fast! You hardly get any time for yourself and it’s YOUR day! So, while your are an amazing bride, rocking the job, the schedule and making sure everyone is on time and things go off without a hitch, don’t forget to schedule yourself a moment to breathe. Take a minute to stop and enjoy all of the details you organized. Celebrate with your girls. Talk about your day. Just schedule yourself a minute or two, to do nothing and enjoy yourself.
The bonus from taking this time, you will get to clear your head and manage your nerves for what comes next. Whether it’s first look or a ceremony, you will thank yourself! Can’t decide if you want a first look or not? Find more info here.
Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff
Your dress is going to get dirty, but that is ok. You only get to wear it once, what’s the point in keeping it spotless. Enjoy your day! Stop thinking about the dress, and think about the celebration.
If the reason you want to keep it spotless is to pull it out in the future and admire it, or pass it down to your own child. Those are great reasons to want to keep it clean, but those are tomorrow’s problems. You can take it to the cleaner after the wedding. It is impossible to keep the dress clean no matter how hard you try. So you might as well have fun, run in the rain, let your dress touch the ground and dance until your feet hurt!
Your Photographer Is On Your Side
Contrary to popular belief, you do not get any alone time on your wedding day. It may be your day, but you are going to spend it with everyone else! There are times you guys can sneak away, but it’s never a guarantee it will go unnoticed. My goal, is to give you that time, unapologetic time. What you do with it is up to you. If you choose to chat animated about your morning, breathe together or just enjoy the fact that you just got married!
Getting just a few moments alone to talk, laugh, kiss or even cry together makes your day even more epic and unforgettable.
Don’t Forget To Eat
Make sure you put out some healthy snacks while your are getting ready. It’s easier to nibble all morning then commit to a full break. You will always have an excuse or no time for a full meal, but snacking happens naturally while hanging with your friends. After the ceremony, during cocktail hour, have your wedding party bring you some snacks that are being served during your photos. This way, you will fully enjoy every single moment of your day!
Don’t Blink! It Flies By
You meticulously plan every detail, you pour over plans and vendors. Everything comes together and you work hard to make the entire day happen smoothly. Most likely it does! So congrats to you for your amazing job. After all this hard work, all the hours you put into the plans. The day is going to fly by so make sure you take a moment to breathe, enjoy yourself and your new husband!
On a selfish note, make sure you hire the right photographer, to capture all of the details you poured your heart into. You want to be able to relive this day.
