The Benefit Of Elopements

Are Elopements The New Black?

Elopements Are Stepping Away From The Traditional And Into Celebrating Your Love, Your Way.

Cute intimate elopement in Toronto. Happy wedding couple.

Todays reality has brought so many changes in the wedding industry, the question is. Are they here to stay? You worked so hard to plan your wedding for the summer of 2020 only to be knocked down and told you have to postpone.

You’re not alone, many of us are wondering what our future looks like. We are stuck in this groundhog day loop, waiting for something to happen. That being said, while here we can take a look around and be grateful for everything we currently have in our lives. Families, significant others and the love that we are surrounded in.

Things we do know.

  • Social distancing will be around for longer than we really want.

  • It may affect our dreams for a big wedding.

Getting ready together before the elopement, creating intimacy and a full story for the whole day.

But I am here to tell you all the benefits of an elopement. Because they are just so cute and amazing.

Big weddings have so much going on, between all the getting ready, worrying about potential family drama and all the little details being in place. Sometimes, the concept of this being your day, gets lost in the shuffle.

But during an elopement, there is no fog. It is focused on intimate and intentional moments. At your pace, perhaps getting ready together and feeling the moments from when you wake up until you turn in for the night. You will have the time to pause, and embrace the authenticity. The reality is, when you have something intimate, you get to control all the little details and only invite those who love you the most and you want to share this intimate feeling with. It can be as simple as something in your backyard, a AirBNB (heres a link for how to rock those!), city hall or you can make it more of an adventure and head up on a hillside or in a city park. The sky is the limit.

Elopements are such an amazing expression towards each other, the photography is more important than ever. It captures the intimacy, authenticity and real feelings of the day. What is documented is more than a time slot of images that were captured based on cues or prompts. They are captured during a day or organic feelings and moments that unfold naturally.

You get more than a ceremony in an elopement. It’s about the entire day and celebrating with special and things unique to just you and your partner. That could be coffee shop date or a restaurant for dinner or maybe you have ordered something special to be catered and you want to eat it in the park. It can be anything really, I am just trying to get that excitement rolling. It truly is an amazing and romantic way to celebrate.
