One big reason I include a complimentary Engagement Session with most of my packages is because it really is a wonderful way to get to know my couples better before their wedding. Every photographer is different, but for me, the more I know about you, the more connected I will feel to you and the more information I will have in my mind to work with on the day of the wedding. What that means is a better product in the end, and richer, more meaningful imagery.

It is extremely important to wear what you feel epic in! It goes a long way. If you feel confident, it will shine through into your photos. It’s always fun to bring an extra outfit to your session too. You can have two styles, one dressier outfit and one more casual one. This is again where I like to reiterate my feeling about wearing flats and bringing heels if they’re wanting them for the photos. We may hike across a beach or through a forest trail. Who knows, it’s an adventure!

I have only been on the receiving end of this scenario (outside of photographing it) and it happened so fast for me. I could only imagine how fast it would feel the moment you drop down to one knee. The world around you would cease to exist as your heart raced. The memory of the whole moment would be nothing but a blur.

I absolutely love to shoot adventure engagement sessions. They are so much fun and can really turn out with some dreamy and fun images. But when it comes down to it. You don’t have to overthink it. Sometimes, just a cute session in your home is all you need. A little bit of music, coffee, dancing and add a huge amount of love.

These sessions are all about you. Remember that and you’ll Rock it. If I have learned anything from experience, it’s that if you guys spend the session gushing over each other, the photos tell the story all by themselves.
